Remember Me????????

I know it has been much too long since I've posted, but I want to talk about socks right now.
The first photo is Quinn, draped with the Quinnie socks. When Quinn has those eyes open they are big baby blues, so I thought the Sockotta looked a bit like the boy. If you have known me & my knitting for long, you are probably amazed to see a long circular needle in this photo. This is my third pair of socks being done a la magic loop, and I've been enjoying myself.
The second photo is the only finished sock in my UFO pile (that's UnFinished Objects to you non knitters.) I still have another sock to go in this pair. It's Cascade Fixation, and it looks so good with my new Vera Bradley bag. I bought the bag as a gift to myself when I lost 25 lbs.
Vicki wants me to photo the unfinished socks all at once, but I think I need to brace you all for the shock. You see, there is a reason that I reminded people of UFO Mondays on the Ample Knitters List. I have a huge backlog of projects, and I can't bring myself to look at them all at one time. At last count, there were 10 pair of unfinished socks here at Chez Quinn, Pat, Precious, Monte, and Paula. May I blame them on one of those other names here?
And now, dear reader, I must knit. The weather is supposed to be heating up, and I need to knit for a class I'm teaching Wednesday night. I'll see you later, Paula

Knitting and riding

Well here it is. This is what I have done on the Mystery stole II so far. Both sides of clue one and one side of clue two. I wonder if you can tell why I am so far behind the rest of the pack in getting my clues done?!

My new Shadow Aero, which I drove home from Greater Boston Motorsports today. And it fits like a glove. I am still amazed at how much I enjoy riding a motorcycle. It was hard to give up the Harley but I am glad I did. This one is a much better bike for me weight wise. The weight is distributed lower so I can control it better.

As for the knitting doesn't it look great draped over the bike? Can't wait for the first time I take a knitting project with me to a bike event. Knitting and riding who could ask for anything more.

So much knitting to do...

Well another month is flying by. I am happy to say the Mystery stole is coming along nicely. I am almost to the end of clue 2 on the first side. I am about a week or so behind the whole yahoo group. But that's ok, I am enjoying making this stole. I have to say Melanie really does design some beautiful shawls. If you haven't checked out her blog the link is to the right of this page.

Paula found a new knitting group forming on the North shore and we went last week. We both enjoyed ourselves. There were 7 of us all together and we took over the back room of Panera Bread for a couple hours. Nice bunch of ladies we plan on going again this Thursday from 7p to 9p.

The only problem with Panera bread is smelling those carbs for 2 hours! Being on weight watchers and having lost 23lbs I was longing for some fresh baked bread. But I decided to have a coffee instead.

Crossing my fingers in hopes of picking up my new motorcycle today. I spoke with the salesman yesterday and he said my windshield was in and that Rachel in service was going to try and get it done before to late in the after noon. Love that Rachel she's a doll. So no more Harley for me, I traded in the Harley and the nighthawk and got a 2006 Honda Shadow Aero 750. I am hoping I can keep this bike for a couple years while I build my riding skills and confidence. Later today I will put up pictures of the new cycle and my Mystery stole.

Now to design some type of bag I can carry my knitting in on my motorcycle and whip out when we stop! Or I could just put them in the saddlebags.....hmmm possibilities!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday America!

Halcyon yarn was extremely quick in getting my Mystery Stole II yarn to me. I managed to try two different needle sizes in making my swatches. The top swatch was done using size 3 needles. The bottom one was done using size 4. I think I will stick with the fours. I have my provisional cast on done, cast on 99 stitches. So I am ready to start, can't wait for the first clue now.

I am also working on a estonian lace scarf and starting the victorian lace shawl. And will be working on those in between clues.
