Extreme knitting

Lately

I have been really into lace knitting. I guess it's a progression we all go through. I love lace, doily's, shawls, sweaters, socks. And it's a good thing the trend in the knitting world is geared toward lace lately. I find my spinning getting really tiny also. So what to do with this lace weight yarn I keep spinning and buying.

I am still working on the Mystery Stole II even though all the clues have been given.

I got side tracked working on a lace scarf sample. But finished it and blocked it and it will go live in the yarn store.

Update- The scarf came back to me to be re knitted. Bev and Paula figured out the mistakes in the booklet. And so I am re-doing the scarf. Which is just as well, the pattern is pretty but the mistakes are awful. Not sure how it ever got published that way?

Thank goodness because that pattern was FUBAR. And it wasn't my knitting either. Even through all the fudging I did it still looks great in the yarn that was chosen for the pattern. Tilly Thomas silk and sequins.

I joined the Rose of England knit along which starts in Sept. It's through Yahoo groups. I just need to get the book. There will be another knit along I think in Oct featuring the book "Arctic Lace" using qiviut yarn. I happen to have some qiviut fiber but don't know if I will get it spun up in time. I also have been soaking up the tips and advice from the laceknitters group on yahoo. What a great resource that is, with all the talented people who are on that list. And mostly I am thankful that the knitting is good and the yarn is yummy!

I am spinning Jacob on the ashford, and love this baby Jacob fleece. I will post when the skein is finished. It will be a lace something and interesting because it will be the different colors of a Jacob fleece. Haven't decided if I will ply it or use it as a single. That's it for now.

V, thanks for getting my "you learn something new every day thing" out of the way today! Today I learned about qiviut - wow, I can't wait to see what you do with it! See you Thursday... only 3 more days to go!
